Top 100 Photos: Flag Raising

1. I picked this image because to me it showed how much more united and stronger we are together as a union or group of people. I noticed how all of the soldiers are working together to lift the flag, which is inspiring!!
2. Apparently, the general of the army wanted a bigger flag to show their dominance over their opponents, which is interesting. Also, the photographer of this picture almost missed the inspiring picture that most of us know so well. The picture was easily recognized and the photographer received the Pulitzer Prize.
