Basic Photo Composition

Simplicity:
I think that this photo shows simplicity because the background is the same throughout the picture. With simplicity, you are able to focus on the main subject of the photo, which is the man falling out of the building. Not many additional things are added to the photo, which is good in this case. Not many things are used to distract us from the subject.
Rule of Thirds:
In this photo, we see the firemen mourning to the right, and then we are able to see a fire and omniscience of a burning building in the background. In a rule of thirds photo, there are multiple things that add to the feel and theme of a picture. In this picture, the firemen and burning building are components of the picture that add a solemn feel to the photo. Both components add to each other to create meaning to the picture.

Lines:
This picture represents lines because of the way that the building's structures are positioned. It makes it easier to notice the rest of the parts of the picture and you can be led to other parts of the framing.

Balance:
This picture I believe is the after affect of 9/11. This picture represents balance because of the synchronization of the buildings and how they connect to the sky as well.
Framing:
I believe that this photo represents framing because the background of the fallen building adds to the effect of the photo as a whole. The background also helps to shed light on the main subject of the photo, which are the firemen hanging the flag back up on the pole after it has been put down in the event of 9/11. Everything contributes to help add depth to the photo.

Merger:
I believe that this is a merger photo because before I could focus my eyes onto the picture, I had no idea that there were people in the picture picking up debris. The colors in the picture blend together with each other, so it is difficult to make out what is what. There are many parts of the picture that could get confused or just don't blend with the rest of the subjects.
